The Dog Whisperer meets Kyra
In November, 2004, I saw Cesar Millan on National Geographic for the first time. After two episodes I knew I had to meet this man. Travel was out of the question because Kyra, the dog I wanted him to observe, had health problems that I needed to manage at home. I called the Dog Psychology Center to find out if he did seminars outside of California. Turns out they were in the process of starting them and I was the first person to book a seminar. So, in April, 2005, Cesar came to Michigan and received a standing ovation in front of 307 people. As a result, our White Shepherd Genetics Project became $7,000 richer and I had a dream come true—I became Kyra’s pack leader. |

I loved meeting Cesar and Ilusion and I loved the seminar, but the highlight was the next day when Cesar and Ilusion came to our home and did hands-on work with Kyra and the rest of the volunteer’s dogs.

In August, 2006, Cesar returned to Michigan and this time we had about 850 people in attendance and earned almost $20,000 for the WSGP. Again, a highlight was the following day when Cesar and Ilusion and their two boys, Andre and Calvin spent the afternoon in our backyard with the volunteers and their dogs and I got to introduce Cesar to my then eight-month old puppy, King Kole.
