Kole is a Natural at Water Rescue
Kole's Aunt Kyra earned her WETT title and her Advanced Water Rescue Merit Badge. Kole, like Kyra, LOVES the water. Kole has all the water skills he needs already and is learning, through his obedience work, the other necessary skills to complete the Water Rescue titles and certifications. Once all the fundamentals are in place, the actual training for the title goes very quickly especially for a smart dog like Kole.

The first time I took the rowboat out, I let the line drag. Kole launched into the water, grabbed the line and towed me back--with no training. Then, I pulled the line into the boat, rowed out farther, threw it and said, "Kole, get it." He did and he towed me in again (two more times) as I told him to "pull." Towing a boat is one of the exercises in the WETT test.
He is now launching from a dock after a toy as we practice for "dock diving" which he first tried at the UKC Premier show.
